Morocco King Chairs in Tangiers Banquet On Sovereign’s 52nd Anniversary
HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and HH Prince Moulay Ismail, chaired, on Friday at the Marshan Palace in Tangiers, a banquet on the occasion of the sovereign’s 52nd anniversary.
The event was attended also by royalty and princes from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Sheikhs from the State of the United Arab Emirates.
On this occasion, HM the King awarded royal wissams to several national and foreign figures.
The sovereign granted the wissam of Al Mukafaa Al Watania of second rank (commander) to several Moroccan actors and artists as Hamadi Ammor, Rachid El Ouali Moulay and Tahar El Asbahani.
He also awarded the Alawite wissam of second class (commander) to some Arab artists and singers as Hani Chakir and Hossein El Jasmi.
The sovereign gave the wissam of Al Mukafaa Al Watania of 3rd class (officer) to Moroccan musicians and comedians as Nouamane Lahlou, Bachir Abdou and Hanane El Fadili. The same decoration went also to several Moroccans athletes as Bouchra Bibanou and Nadia Benbahtane.
HM the King also granted the wissam of Al Mukafaa Al Watania of 4th class (knight) to other Moroccan artists as Saad Lamjered and Nabila Maâane.
HM the King was afterwards greeted by several figures from the sphere of science and culture, notably culture minister Mohamed Amine Sbihi and historian of the Kingdom, spokesperson of the royal palace and president of scientific committee of Moulay Ali Cherif University Abdelhak Lamrini who handed the King a book in Arabic entitled “Sidi Mohamed Ben Youssef: from allegiance to Sultan’s call of 1939”.
HM the King was also greeted by Mohamed El Kettani, official at the royal office who gave the sovereign a book in Arabic entitled “Terminology of Arab religious and scientific heritage”, Chaouki Binbine, director of Hassania Library, who handed the sovereign books reviewed and edited by the said library, and Bahija Simou, director of royal archives, who gave the monarch a book entitled “Moroccan-French relations, a centuries-old history”.
Abdelaziz Laaroussi, executive at the royal office, handed afterwards the sovereign a book in Arabic on “Moroccan law-making and international human rights agreements”.
The sovereign was also greeted by Father Simeon Czeslaw Michal Stachera, vicar-general of Tangiers archdiocese who gave him a book in Spanish entitled “Franciscanos y Sultanes en Marruecos”.
The banquet was also attended by the Head of government, speakers of the two houses of parliament, HM the King’s advisors, government members, high commissioners, presidents of constitutional institutions, directors of royal offices, high-ranking officers of FAR’s general staff, members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Morocco as well as other civil and military figures.
