Yemen: Morocco participating in air strikes against Shiite Houthies

Moroccans were involved in the war launched by Saudi Arabia against Yemen. Ryad account even go to the land phase. It mobilized 150,000 troops to support the Sunni President Hadi Mansour. Very late in the evening of Wednesday, Morocco expressed in a statement through the Department of Foreign Affairs its full solidarity with Riyadh.

For several hours, planes of Saudi Arabia’s army bombed the positions of houthies militias (Shia) in Yemen. Ten Arab countries and Pakistan are involved in the operation, dubbed “firmness Storm”. Morocco takes part in this offensive, says Al Arabiya. The same source says that six Moroccan F16 participate in strikes.

Tuesday, Sunni Mansour Hadi President had called on Gulf states to ask to intervene militarily in his country. With this help, he hopes to curb the offensive Houthies and their ally Ali Abdullah Saleh, the former dictator deposed on the southern areas of Yemen.
