Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni lauded Morocco’s desire to join the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO), while inviting it to adhere without delay to the Council of Europe’s criminal and civil conventions on Corruption.
Battaini-Dragoni, who paid a visit on Wednesday to the Central Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ICPC), said the body has created a strong dynamic in the field of the fight against corruption and represents an important player in the Moroccan institutional landscape.
Quoted by a statement from the ICPC, Battaini-Dragoni also noted that, despite the efforts made ??by Morocco to fight corruption, there are still many things to do, mainly the fight against impunity, one of first requirements of the population, as well as endowing the agency with investigative powers and the prerogative to submit cases to the court.
