Rabat – Some 535 applications have been registered under the “Power Export” program, designed to support Moroccan companies and strengthen their export capabilities, stated Omar Hejira, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment, and Economic Inclusion, in charge of Foreign Trade, on Tuesday.
In response to oral questions on the territorial deployment of foreign trade programs in the House of Councillors, Mr. Hejira explained that this program, which falls within the framework of the foreign trade roadmap for the period 2025-2027, aims to foster the emergence of 600 new exporting companies, with the objective of benefiting businesses in all regions of the Kingdom.
Regarding the regional distribution of applications, the Casablanca-Settat region leads with 38.4%, followed by Marrakech-Safi (11.5%), then the Fès-Meknès and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra regions, each with 10.2%. The Souss-Massa and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima regions each represent 9.5%, while the six remaining regions account for 12.8%.
These figures highlight the need for all stakeholders to strengthen cooperation and presence at the regional level, with a view to ensuring territorial equity in production, the minister stated.
Specifically, the applications received fall into two categories: 230 companies that have never exported, which will benefit from a preliminary assessment to evaluate their export capacity and identify their needs; 235 exporting companies whose export potential and capacity are not yet fully exploited; and 70 companies that export their products on a limited basis and need support to increase their exports, he explained.
This support includes assistance in obtaining certificates of conformity, promoting products on international e-commerce platforms, concluding contracts with international sales agents, and participating in international trade fairs, Mr. Hejira added.
The “Power Export” program is an integrated system combining assessment, guidance, financing, and technical support to assist companies at various stages of developing their export projects.
