The Emirati Elite Agro Holding Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development for the development of the Sidi Yehia farm, covering approximately 400 hectares. The project, with a budget of 140 million Emirati dirhams, will focus on high-value crops, including blueberries, mandarins, and avocados. It aims to strengthen the group’s presence in Morocco and increase production for both domestic and international markets.
Elite Agro Holding (EAG), an agribusiness and food group based in the United Arab Emirates, is expanding its operations in Morocco. The Group and the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID) have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop the Sidi Yehia farm, with an investment of 140 million Emirati dirhams (AED), or approximately 380 million Moroccan dirhams, covering around 400 hectares.
This farm will become Elite Agro’s eighth in the Kingdom. The project will focus on high-value crops, including blueberries, mandarins, and avocados. It aims to strengthen the Group’s presence in Morocco and increase production for both domestic and international markets. This announcement was made on October 6, during Global Food Week 2026, which is being held from October 6 to 8 at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi. It is part of a portfolio of AED 660 million in agricultural investments and partnerships covering the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, and Mauritania, for projects spanning over 9,300 hectares.
Partnerships for Food Security
For Hassan Halawy, Group CEO of Elite Agro Holding, these investments mark “a new phase of growth” for the Group in strategic markets. According to a Group press release, he believes that the expansion into the UAE, Morocco, and Mauritania is part of a vision of sustainable growth and closer strategic partnerships. He says the projects will contribute to food security, create jobs, and strengthen local capacities through the sharing of knowledge, expertise, and technologies. He adds that the sustainability of the partnerships depends on their economic success, and that the agreements signed reflect the partners’ confidence in the Group’s ability to transform opportunities into profitable and scalable projects.
The UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, stated that these investments reflect the UAE’s commitment to strategic partnerships in priority sectors and support the international expansion of Emirati businesses. He emphasized that, in the face of growing global food security challenges, cross-border cooperation is essential for building a sustainable agricultural sector.
Elite Agro Holding manages over 32,000 hectares in the UAE, Serbia, Morocco, Mauritania, and Ethiopia. The Group has a strong presence in the Moroccan market. Its subsidiary, Elite Harvest Maroc, inaugurated a new 200-hectare farm in the Kenitra region last July. This seventh farm is dedicated to the production of blueberries and raspberries for both domestic and international markets.
