Dakhla, Togo Municipality to Boost Local Cooperation Across Multiple Sectors

Rabat – Dakhla and Togo’s Commune des Lacs 3 are set to strengthen cooperation in local development, environmental resilience, the blue economy and other areas of common interest, following the approval of a decentralized cooperation agreement by Dakhla’s communal council on Thursday.

The five-year agreement establishes a framework for exchanges and joint initiatives between the two local authorities, covering territorial governance, maritime activities and the valorization of natural resources.

The partnership also encompasses culture, heritage and tourism, youth, sports and social cohesion, in addition to local economic development, entrepreneurship and innovation.

Under the agreement, the two municipalities will promote the exchange of expertise and best practices, organize training sessions, seminars and workshops, and encourage cultural, sports and educational exchanges. They will also work together on the development and implementation of joint projects.

The agreement allows the two municipalities to seek funding from public, technical and financial partners, international organizations and private-sector stakeholders, in accordance with the legislation in force in both countries.
