The Es-Semara Provincial Council Approves the 2027 BudgetEs-Semara

The Es-Semara Provincial Council, meeting in its regular September session on Monday, approved the draft budget for the 2027 fiscal year, amounting to over 46.4 million dirhams (MDH).

During this session, chaired by the Council President, Mohamed Salem Labihi, and in the presence of the Provincial Governor, Brahim Boutoumilate, the members of this elected body approved Amendment No. 1 to the partnership agreement concerning the construction of five hillside reservoirs in the province, with a contribution of 650,000 dirhams from the Council.

They also adopted the partnership agreement for supporting education, which has a total budget of 1.8 MDH, including a contribution of 400,000 dirhams from the Council.

Furthermore, they approved the transfer of funds from certain sections of the second part of the Provincial Council’s budget.

In his address on this occasion, Mr. Labihi emphasized that this session is taking place in an exceptional context marked by the holding of legislative elections in the Kingdom. He noted, in this regard, that the southern provinces of the Kingdom recorded high voter turnout, exceeding 77% in the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, 61% in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, and 53% in the Guelmim-Oued Noun region.

According to him, these rates constitute an indicator of the continued and effective support of the populations of these regions for representative institutions and their attachment to their Moroccan identity.
