Davos: Morocco distinguished model in the Arab region
The Head of Government Abdelilah Benkirane stressed Friday at the World Economic Forum held in Davos (Switzerland) that Morocco could be a distinguished model in the Arab region, thanks to the awareness of all of its stakeholders and institutions of their role in contributing to the development of their country.
Taking part in a high-level meeting on “processing regions: the case of the Arab world” alongside a group of eminent international personalities, Benkirane said that Morocco could be a distinguished model in the Arab region, thanks to the awareness of all its stakeholders and institutions of their role in contributing to the development of their country and their tendency to consolidate cooperation and reject conflicts between them, believing that This is natural and civilizational role that everyone must assume that things are changing in a positive way.
Referring to the situation in the Arab world, Benkirane said he was optimistic about the future, despite the critical nature of the current situation, which mainly by events that registers the Arab world, such continuous downward of oil prices and unpredictable political and security events that can mark the Arab scene of their footprint.
In response to a question about the compatibility of Islam with politics, Mr. Benkirane explained that there are three parties through the Arab world: a party that wants to impose its control and maintain the status quo, a radical party that would like to return countries and the Arab peoples at different times and outdated practices, and moderate and democratic party that wants to deal with the facts in a moderate way. He noted, in this regard, that the Arab region has a future in adopting the moderate party approach, opposed by the arbitrary and radical currents.
The moderate current, has he said, is the hope of all those who hold the reins of power now because it is the only power capable of meeting the expectations of all classes politically, economically and intellectually, in particular classes that have long suffered marginalization and who have not benefited from the fruits of growth.
Mr. Benkirane also stressed the need for input from those that are based on an Islamic reference to the management of public affairs for the progress of their countries, indicating that they would be of no use if they plunge their countries in crisis.
The head of government will hold bilateral meetings with several personalities taking part in the work of the Forum that will provide an opportunity to highlight the specificities of the Moroccan model and present the philosophy of political, economic and social enterprises by Morocco, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and that the government ensures implementation
