Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency Presents Achievements at 52nd OIC Council of Foreign Ministers

Baghdad – Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, the executive arm of the Al-Quds Committee chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, presented on Saturday in Baghdad to the delegations of member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) participating in the 52nd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the said Organization, a report on the results of its humanitarian actions in the Holy City.

This report includes brochures and visual materials presenting the achievements of the Agency between June 2025 and September 2026, as well as a presentation note outlining its approach, which focuses on the complementarity between direct humanitarian interventions and social and economic empowerment programs. It also outlines the Agency’s vision for 2030, developed in partnership with Palestinian institutions and civil society actors, under the slogan “Sustainability in Planning and Action.”

The report states that the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency several consultations last September in the Holy City and in Ramallah to put in place its action plan for the 2027-2030 period, centered on three strategic pillars: strengthening administrative governance and digitalization; enhancing the Agency’s resources and diversifying its funding sources; and implementing a comprehensive action plan for the social sectors.

This action plan for 2027-2030 is structured around ten programs that combine ongoing core activities with new areas of action adapted to social, economic, and technological changes, within a financial framework based on an annual safety threshold of $7 million, to which will be added the additional resources the institution will be able to mobilize through the solutions proposed by the plan, the report emphasizes.

Regarding the Agency’s activities in 2026, the report highlights diverse programs in social welfare, education, health, economic empowerment, and agriculture, with an emphasis on initiatives targeting children and youth, cultural and academic activities, and innovation programs.

On the social front, the Ramadan 1447 AH aid program focused in particular on the distribution of 5,000 food baskets, the provision of 20,000 iftar meals per day, the distribution of Eid al-Fitr clothing to 500 orphans, and the distribution of 5,112 gift certificates.

The Agency also implemented the “A Warm Winter” initiative, benefiting 120 households across 12 Bedouin communities in the southeastern part of the city.

In the education sector, the Agency supported several schools in rural communities of Al-Quds by providing them with equipment and educational materials, in addition to distributing 3,000 backpacks and school supplies for the 2026-2027 school year.

These efforts were complemented by educational initiatives for children hospitalized at Al-Matlaa Hospital, as well as a summer school program that benefited more than 3,000 children across some 20 schools and centers.

As part of the expansion of these efforts, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency launched, in mid-July, an comprehensive program to support education and training in Al-Quds for the period 2027-2030, focused on improving and upgrading the school environment, expanding scholarships and training programs, supporting entrepreneurship and digital technologies, and strengthening extracurricular activities and the preservation of identity.

In the health sector, mobile medical units were deployed to 31 localities in the Al-Quds Governorate to provide medical examinations, consultations, and medication distribution, as well as to refer 100 cases to specialized facilities, bringing the number of beneficiaries to more than 2,500 as of last June, according to the report.

Regarding economic empowerment, the report noted that the Agency supported the participation of six Palestinian startups in the GITEX Africa trade show in Marrakesh, as part of its startup incubation program. This initiative has supported a total of 34 companies, eight of which benefited from acceleration programs, while three launched their commercial operations in Italy and the United Arab Emirates.

The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency also organized four training sessions on import-export for approximately 100 Jerusalemite merchants, as well as a training program in traditional crafts that brought together 38 trainees and three Moroccan artisans.

In the area of children and youth, the report highlights the organization of the 17th annual “Manarat As-Salam” (Beacon of Peace) summer camp, which benefited 50 boys and girls from Al-Quds, aged 11 to 14.

The report also highlights the Al-Quds 2026 Hackathon, which brought together more than 120 young people from eight Palestinian universities, divided into 35 teams. A total of $21,000 was awarded to the winning teams to encourage innovative technological solutions.

Concerning the agricultural sector, the report highlights the Agency’s initiatives to support farmers in Al-Quds, notably the “Soumoud” project, launched in January 2026 to benefit 250 farmers, as well as the “Field Schools” project, launched in November 2025 to build their capacity through hands-on, field-based learning in various agricultural fields.

The report also includes several cultural and academic initiatives, including participation in the Rabat International Book Fair and the organization of events aimed at ensuring a more effective presence of the Palestinian narrative, as well as partnerships with Moroccan and Palestinian institutions in the fields of education, training, culture, and social action.

It further examines the impact of the war in Gaza and the economic crisis on the Palestinian economy, particularly on vital sectors in Al-Quds, including employment, trade, and tourism, with a focus on the restrictions imposed on movement to and from the holy city.

In terms of social and health support, the Agency has expanded its sponsorship program for orphans in Al-Quds to include 350 orphans from the Gaza Strip, in partnership with local organizations.

The report also highlights a project aimed, in its initial phase, at providing prosthetics to 300 children in Gaza who lost limbs as a result of the war, in coordination with the Palestinian Ministry of Social Development and thanks to a financial contribution from the Kingdom of Morocco.

On the sidelines of the 52nd session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency is organizing an exhibition of paintings, photographs, and publications to raise awareness of its programs and projects in Al-Quds.
