The 17th El Jadida Horse Show: A Renewed Event Promoting and Enhancing Morocco’s International Heritage

Casablanca – The 17th edition of the El Jadida Horse Show, which opens Tuesday and runs until October 18 at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Center, is a renewed event dedicated to showcasing Morocco’s equestrian heritage, promoting its richness and diversity, and strengthening the Kingdom’s international standing in the equestrian field.

Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this event, organized by the Horse Show Association, is being held this year under the theme “The Horse in Service to Humankind,” highlighting the diverse roles horses have played throughout history and the deep bonds that unite them with humankind in various fields.

This edition aims to highlight this relationship from several perspectives, emphasizing the horse’s role as a working partner, a symbol of heritage, and a driver of sporting, cultural, and recreational development, while also underscoring human responsibility towards the horse, particularly regarding respect for its dignity, preservation of its well-being, and appropriate treatment.

This theme also reflects the economic, social, and cultural dimensions of the horse, within a comprehensive approach designed to showcase the various components of the equine industry, whether sporting, cultural, artistic, educational, or professional.

The program for this edition gives significant prominence to scientific and cultural aspects, through conferences and meetings bringing together researchers, experts, and professionals to discuss various issues related to equine health and care, as well as their historical and cultural significance within society.

Friday, October 16, will be dedicated to a scientific and cultural program focusing on equine-assisted therapy and its development in Morocco, as well as equine hydrotherapy and its role in improving veterinary care and rehabilitating horses.

The program also includes a cultural session dedicated to the presence of the horse within the Sharifian Mehalla and its role in preserving human physical and psychological health. This event will also highlight the interest shown by Moroccan sultans in horses, as evidenced by historical documents, and the efforts made to document equine terminology and preserve this intellectual and cultural heritage.

Veterinary medicine is also on the program, with a scientific conference, organized in partnership with the Moroccan Association of Equine Veterinarians, dedicated to the latest advances in equine veterinary medicine, including genetic testing, recent castration surgical techniques, and the diagnosis and treatment of certain complex pathologies.

These themes reflect the Salon’s commitment to strengthening its position as a forum for dialogue, the exchange of expertise, and the transmission of knowledge, at the crossroads of scientific research, culture, and professional know-how.

The artistic and recreational aspect will also play a prominent role in this year’s program, through the Equestrian Nights, which will bring together five nationally and internationally renowned troupes for performances blending tradition, creativity, and equestrian excellence.

Younger generations will, in turn, receive special attention through a program designed for children and teenagers, aiming to introduce them to the world of horses, its equestrian sports, professions, traditions, and associated values.

Through workshops and educational activities, demonstrations, and discovery areas, the Salon intends to connect younger generations with Morocco’s equestrian heritage and enhance their understanding of its various cultural, sporting, and educational dimensions.

Thus, the El Jadida Horse Show aims to be a space for meeting and exchange between the different regions of the Kingdom, showcasing their cultural heritage, local products, and traditional equestrian skills.

This national dimension reflects the scope of the Show, which is not limited to competitions and performances, but extends to promoting professions and activities related to horses, as well as supporting local development and the rural economy.

For six days, the Show will bring together breeders, riders, artisans, researchers,
