The 3rd international forum of oasis and local development take place in Zagora Morocco

The 3rd international forum of oasis and local development began its work Thursday in Zagora, under the theme ” oasis Family farming: opportunities and threats.”
The forum, whose opening was graced by the presence of Ministers of Agriculture and Marine Fisheries, Aziz Akhannouch and Tourism Lahcen Hadad, is part of the development strategy of the province of Zagora in 2020. It will allow different stakeholders (government officials, elected officials, civil society, professional and institutional) to reconsider what opportunities and challenges for a promising development.
Initiated by the Association of International Forum oasis of Zagora, this edition will highlight the potential of Moroccan oasis zones and enable local actors to reconsider what opportunities and challenges for a promising sustainable development.
This third edition coincides with the proclamation of 2014 International Year of Family Farming (AIAF 2014) by the UN, an initiative to enhance the image of family farming and small-scale agriculture, by focusing on their significant contribution to the eradication of hunger and poverty.
