Ramadan without juice as Customs’ Taxes Increased

In recent weeks, large amounts of fruit juice are blocked at the port of Casablanca. customs taxes increase is the cause of blockage, taxes have increased from 2.5% to 49%. Many importers can no longer pay : they choose to leave their goods at the port.

This increase is  incomprehensible and unjustified, according to the sellers of fruit juice.

A tax increase that costs millions of dirham for industrials, Indeed, the Moroccan government is saying that it is encouraging and promoting ” Made in Morocco” products, customs acts in the opposite direction .

An Industrial explained indignantly that ” therefore made locally prepared products less competitive against those imported , which themselves are exempt from customs duties .” This could cause a rupture of stocks of juice , while the summer season ( the most important season sales)  is about to start . In addition , Ramadan will begin in a month, on June 28 However, this period is when the citizens consumed a lot from these beverages.
