Rabat – Panama’s Ambassador to Morocco Isbeth Quiel Murcia expressed on Thursday the thanks and deep gratitude of Panama’s First Lady, Maricel Cohen de Mulino, to HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa and the Lalla Asmaa Foundation, following the cochlear implant surgeries to the benefit of Panamanian children as part of the international program “Together, We Hear Each Other Better.”
In a statement to the press on the occasion of HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa’s visit to the National Center for Rehabilitation and Neurosciences in Rabat to meet young Moroccan patients and Panamanian children who received cochlear implants, Quiel Murcia emphasized strong cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Panama, which is tangibly demonstrated through the support and assistance provided to these Panamanian children.
Thanks to these implants, these Panamanian children can look forward to a better life, she said, expressing the hope that cooperation in this area would be further deepened and extended to other fields.
For their part, mothers of Panamanian children who received these implants expressed their deep gratitude to HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa and the Lalla Asmaa Foundation for helping achieve their dream: to see their children recover the gift of hearing and communicate with them.
“For me, it is a source of immense satisfaction and great joy to benefit from the support of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation,” said Osiris Castro, mother to Adrián.
Helen Álvarez, Liam’s mother, echoed this sentiment, expressing her deep gratitude for the Foundation’s efforts to ensure that children in her country can hear and have a better future.
Panama is the 22nd country to join the NASMAA program, led by the Lalla Asmaa Foundation, and the 2nd in Latin America after El Salvador.
