Following the significant increase recorded at the end of September, fuel prices will see a slight adjustment starting Friday, October 16, at midnight. The price of diesel will decrease by 20 cents per liter, while the price of gasoline will remain unchanged.
This latest adjustment comes two weeks after the increase that took effect overnight from September 30 to October 1. Prices had then risen by 80 cents per liter for diesel and by 39 cents for gasoline.
Based on the levels estimated during this previous adjustment, the price of diesel should now settle around 15.61 dirhams per liter, compared to approximately 15.81 dirhams previously. The price of gasoline, for its part, should remain unchanged at around 15.33 dirhams per liter. These prices are indicative and may vary depending on the city and service station.
This decrease marks a slight easing for diesel, after several successive increases recorded since mid-July. As a reminder, its price rose from 65 to 70 centimes on July 16, then by one dirham at the beginning of August and by 65 centimes in mid-August. A further increase of 6 centimes was then applied at the beginning of September, followed by another of 80 centimes at the end of the same month.
Gasoline is following a different trend. After several fluctuations during the summer, its price increased by 39 centimes during the last revision. It will remain unchanged this time.
Despite this slight decrease in diesel prices, the prices of both fuels remain at relatively high levels, continuing to weigh on household transportation expenses and business operating costs.
