Safran Electrical & Power Expands Aïn Atiq Plant, to Create 400 Jobs

Temara – Safran Electrical & Power on Tuesday inaugurated an extension to its industrial site in Aïn Atiq, Temara, in the presence of Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour, adding 5,700 square meters to its facilities and paving the way for the creation of 400 additional jobs.

The expansion brings the site’s total area to 31,400 square meters and will strengthen its production capacity, enable it to accommodate new aircraft programs and further develop its industrial expertise, according to company officials.

Specializing in the manufacture of aircraft electrical wiring harnesses, the Aïn Atiq facility is one of the world’s largest industrial units in this field. It supports programs led by major global aircraft manufacturers, highlighting Morocco’s role in demanding international aerospace supply chains.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mezzour welcomed Safran’s continued confidence in Morocco, noting that the site’s development over the past two decades reflects the progress made by the country’s industrial sector and its manufacturing capabilities.

For his part, Safran Electrical & Power Chairman and CEO Bruno Bellanger said the expansion underscored the strength of the group’s partnership with Morocco, where Safran is marking 20 years of operation.

He noted that the group is pursuing further investments in the Kingdom, including in electric motors, landing brakes and electromechanical activities at its Casablanca site, alongside the newly inaugurated extension.

Bellanger also highlighted the importance of electrical technologies to Safran’s strategy of achieving carbon neutrality in aviation by 2050, notably through improved engine efficiency, the use of sustainable aviation fuels and the development of hybrid-electric technologies.

Safran Electrical & Power Morocco President Leïla El Ghrib stressed the importance of developing local skills through partnerships with universities, training institutions and schools to recruit and train the talent needed to support the site’s growth.

The Aïn Atiq facility currently employs 1,610 people, 87% of whom are women. Its production volume is expected to reach nearly two million hours in 2026.
