Azilal: Provincial Human Development Committee Approves High-Impact Social Projects Totaling Over 9.7 Million Dirhams

The Provincial Human Development Committee (CPDH) of Azilal, meeting on Wednesday, approved four social projects with a total investment of nearly 9.76 million dirhams (MDH), funded by additional credits allocated to the “Boosting Human Capital for Future Generations” program.

Chaired by the Governor of Azilal Province, Hassan Zitouni, and attended by the Provincial Secretary General, elected officials, and representatives of civil society, the meeting was largely devoted to reviewing the implementation of the ministerial circular concerning the reform and improvement of school transportation services in rural areas.

A detailed presentation was given at the event, highlighting the project’s aim to define the responsibilities of the various stakeholders, establish efficient governance of this vital service, and facilitate students’ access to educational institutions in safe and appropriate conditions.

In a statement to MAP, the head of the Social Action Division (DAS) in the province of Azilal, Issam Ben Assou, indicated that this meeting, the second of the CPDH (Committee for the Promotion of Human Rights) for the 2026 fiscal year, focused on the provisions of the ministerial directive concerning school transportation, as well as the approval of new projects with a strong social impact.

Improving school transportation, he explained, requires a thorough scientific, technical, and financial study at the local government level, with the goal of increasing school enrollment rates. He noted that the four adopted projects primarily target maternal health and education.

Specifically, 2.2 million dirhams (MDH) has been allocated to the “Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition” initiative, with the goal of acquiring four fully equipped ambulances.

The “Support for Education and Development” initiative has received over 7.56 million dirhams (MDH). This sum will be used to conduct the aforementioned study on school transport management (1 MDH) and to purchase 10 school buses (5 MDH).

This same initiative also includes allocating over 1.56 million dirhams (MDH) to re-equipping the Dar Talib and Dar Taliba (student residences) in the province. This project targets accommodation facilities located in Ait Tamlil, Tilougguite, Tanant, Imlil, Tiffert N’ait Hamza, Tidili Fetouaka, Rfala, Afourar, and Foum Jamaa.

The scheduling of these projects reinforces the commitment of the provincial authorities of Azilal to strengthening social infrastructure, combating school dropout rates, and improving maternal and child health, particularly in rural and mountainous areas.
