Morocco Participates in the 18th “Fruit Attraction” Trade Fair in Madrid

Madrid – Several professionals from Morocco’s fruit and vegetable sector are participating in the “Fruit Attraction” trade fair in Madrid, one of the most important international events dedicated to the agricultural sector, whose 18th edition is being held from October 6 to 8.

This edition, organized by the Madrid Fair and the Spanish Federation of Associations of Fruit and Vegetable Producers and Exporters, was inaugurated on Tuesday by the Spanish Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, in the presence of several officials and diplomats, including the Moroccan Ambassador to Spain, Karima Benyaich.

The Moroccan pavilion, set up by Morocco Foodex (the autonomous export control and coordination agency), is hosting 34 exporters from across the Kingdom who are presenting their products to international buyers to explore new business opportunities for the 2026/2027 agricultural season.

This significant participation of Moroccan companies reflects the interest that European buyers and distributors have in Moroccan products, which are highly valued and sought after on international markets for their quality, stated Ghita El Ghorfi, Director General of Morocco Foodex, in a statement to MAP.

“We currently have more than thirty Moroccan operators present, representing a diverse range of fruits and vegetables, as well as all the flagship products of the Moroccan agri-food sector, particularly for export,” she emphasized, noting that this participation is of great importance, as this is a trade fair with a European and international focus.

Moroccan participation in this trade fair will allow national exporters to showcase the full diversity of Morocco’s exportable products, added Ms. El Ghorfi.

Spanning nearly 600 square meters, the pavilion highlights the quality, authenticity, and traceability of Moroccan products, the potential of Moroccan companies operating in the fresh produce sector, and the richness of Morocco’s export offerings through the display of a diverse range of agricultural products.

For its part, the Tanger Med port complex is participating in this event with a booth showcasing its port and logistics services for importers, exporters, and other operators in the sector.

In a statement to MAP, the port complex’s communications director, Meriem Fares, indicated that the Tanger Med group’s participation in the Fruit Attraction trade fair in Madrid provides an opportunity to present its logistics services to Moroccan and international importers and exporters.

“Our presence at this trade fair fulfills a dual purpose: to meet with the various industry players and present our logistics solutions, alongside our partners, including representatives from transport and logistics companies, freight forwarders, shipping companies, and terminal operators,” she explained.

Considered one of the most important trade fairs for the fruit and vegetable sector in the Mediterranean region, “Fruit Attraction” has become a global benchmark in the fresh produce industry, attracting more than 2,500 companies representing over 78 countries and more than 121,000 professionals.

According to the organizers, the trade fair aims to be the global epicenter for fresh produce marketing, where “innovation, quality, and diversity are the key factors that bring together operators and retailers from around the world to plan their campaigns at a crucial time.”
