Al Quds – The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, under the Al-Quds Committee chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, launched on Tuesday in the town of Al-Ram (north Al-Quds) the “Aouna 2026” campaign, designed to support Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest season, with Moroccan support provided by the Moroccan Association for Support to Reconstruction in Palestine and the Commune of Fez.
As a result, nearly 2,250 farmers spread across 20 areas in the Al-Quds governorate, including 16 agricultural zones, are benefiting from this campaign, which provides them with equipment designed to speed up the harvest, improve the quality of production, and preserve the crops.
In a press release issued on this occasion, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency stated that the “Aouna” campaign forms part of its programs and initiatives aimed at supporting the residents of Al-Quds, particularly small-scale farmers, to help them continue their agricultural activities and preserve their production, in accordance with the High Guidelines of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.
The Agency emphasized that supporting farmers and the Palestinian agricultural sector is one of its areas of focus in Al-Quds, through concrete programs that address the needs of the population.
Director General of Agriculture in the Al-Quds Governorate Fayha Najm noted that the campaign is all the more important this year as the olive harvest season has been marked by “unprecedented” attacks, pointing out that more than 87 farmers have been targeted in the areas of Jaba, Beit Anan, Silwan, and Abu Dis, while more than 70 farmers in Mikhmas are facing difficulties accessing their land to harvest olives.
For the seventh consecutive year, the Agency’s teams have begun distributing equipment to beneficiaries, including battery-powered mechanical harvesters capable of operating for several hours, as well as tarps and bags for collecting, storing, and quickly transporting the olives.
This equipment helps reduce the time the harvest remains in the fields and, consequently, limits the risk of theft, according to campaign officials.
The launch of the “Aouna” campaign is a continuation of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency’s efforts to support farmers, notably the “Soumoud” project, launched in January 2026 to benefit 250 farmers, as well as the “Field Schools” project, launched in November 2025 to build their capacity through hands-on, field-based learning in various agricultural fields.
