Moroccan Economy Creates Over 60K Businesses in Jan-July 2026

Rabat – Morocco established 60,908 business from January to July 2026, according to the Moroccan Office for Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC).

These businesses are divided by legal entities (45,898) and individuals (15,010), OMPIC stated in a press release.

In terms of legal structures, the Single-Member Limited Liability Company (SARL AU) remains the most popular choice among founders of corporate entities, accounting for 65% of registrations. It is followed by the Limited Liability Company (SARL), which accounts for 33.9%.

Geographically, the Casablanca-Settat region ranks first, accounting for 39.3% of new corporate business formations, ahead of the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region (14.5%), the Marrakech-Safi region (12.3%), and the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region (10.8%). These four regions alone account for 76.9% of all newly established corporate entities nationwide.

In terms of sectors of activity, newly established corporate entities operate primarily in commerce (27.22%), followed by construction and public works and real estate (25.28%), miscellaneous services (20.03%), transportation (7.63%), and manufacturing (6.3%).

As for sole proprietorships (individuals), the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region ranks first with 20.6% of registrations, followed by Casablanca-Settat (13.2%) and Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (10.7%).

In addition, 77,883 trade names (negative certificates) were issued by OMPIC during the period from January through July 2026.
