Lesotho vs. Morocco (AFCON 2027 Qualifiers – Group A)

The Atlas Lions continue their quest for 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualification today as they face Lesotho at the Free State Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein, South Africa.

Morocco kickstarted their Group A journey in Rabat with a convincing 2–0 victory over Gabon, courtesy of a 36th-minute opener from Noussair Mazraoui and an 84th-minute strike by Soufiane Rahimi. That result put Morocco top of the group on goal difference ahead of Niger, who also sit on three points following their 2–1 win against Lesotho. In that opener, Lesotho conceded twice before the break before Sera Motebang pulled one back from the penalty spot late in the second half.

Histories favor the Moroccan side, with the two nations having previously crossed paths during the 2025 AFCON qualifiers. Morocco claimed victory in both encounters (1–0 and 7–0), netting eight goals in total without reply.
