Breakdancing: B-Boy Billy and B-Girl El Mamouny secure their spot in the Red Bull BC One World Final in Toronto

Casablanca – B-Boy Billy and B-Girl El Mamouny won the national qualifiers for the Red Bull BC One Cypher Morocco on Saturday night in Casablanca, securing their place in the world final scheduled for November 29 in Toronto, where they will represent Morocco.

Organized as part of the Red Bull BC One All Star Tour Africa 2026, these qualifiers brought together Moroccan breakdancers for one-on-one battles to determine the national representatives who will participate in the global event.

In the B-Boy category, Bilal Mellakh, aka Billy, from Khouribga, emerged victorious, securing another international qualification after having already won the previous edition and represented Morocco on the world stage.

In a statement to MAP, B-Boy Billy expressed his determination to deliver a better performance at the world final in Toronto, after a previous participation that didn’t yield the desired result. He also voiced his ambition to represent his country to the best of his ability.

In the B-Girl category, Fatima Zahra El Mamouny, also known as El Mamouny, won the women’s competition, securing her place in Toronto as well. There, the two Moroccan champions will compete against the best international representatives of the discipline.

The Red Bull BC One is one of the leading international individual breaking competitions. Every year, B-Boys and B-Girls compete in various qualifying rounds to reach the world final and represent their countries.

Furthermore, Nabil Madrane, aka Bilou, MC of the Red Bull BC One Morocco Cypher, explained to MAP that the competition begins with a pre-selection process to narrow it down to 16 participants, who then compete in successive duels until the winner is determined.

The selection is based on several criteria, including originality, musicality, dynamism, and the energy displayed by the participants, he specified, emphasizing that breakdancing also requires significant physical fitness and precise coordination.

The jury for this edition included international figures in the discipline, such as B-Boy Menno and B-Boy Lee from the Netherlands, as well as B-Boy Victor from the United States.

The event was organised under the auspices of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Hip-Hop, Breaking and Related Disciplines (FRMSAFH), in partnership with the Municipality of Casablanca and the Casa Baia Local Development Company, with the support of the Prefecture of the Casablanca-Anfa districts.
