Bouznika – The Royal Moroccan Federation of Karate and Associated Disciplines (FRMKDA) held a ceremony on Wednesday at the National Training Center in Bouznika to honor the national team champions, celebrating their achievements at the recent African Championships and Mediterranean Games.

This ceremony, which took place in the presence of league presidents and members of the Federation’s board of directors, was an opportunity to pay tribute to the national team members in recognition of their performances and results in their recent competitions.

The national team won 26 medals at the African Karate Championships, held in Algeria, including five gold, 14 silver, and seven bronze.

The national team also won five medals at the Mediterranean Games, including two gold and three bronze.

On this occasion, the Vice-President of the FRMKDA (Royal Moroccan Karate Federation), Bouchra Lakhal, stated that this ceremony celebrates the achievements of Moroccan karate champions in various international competitions.

In a statement to the press, she added that these results are the fruit of continuous work, to which the Federation’s presidency, the National Technical Directorate, and the various components of the federation contribute. She emphasized that Morocco has world-class champions capable of bringing honor to the national sport at various events.

She considered this ceremony a true sporting celebration that pays tribute to the champions and recognizes the efforts made to promote Moroccan karate.

For his part, the FRMKDA’s Technical Director, Salaheddine Mesnaoui, stated that the results achieved at the African Championships and the Mediterranean Games reflect the continuous work undertaken by the national team throughout the year.

He added that this record is the fruit of ongoing preparation and daily training at the National Center, as well as the efforts made by the technical staff and athletes. He noted that the competition was fierce and that the national team faced high-level opponents, which adds even more value to the results.

Mr. Mesnaoui emphasized that the work within the Federation is based on a forward-looking vision and an ongoing project aimed at developing champions and preparing them for future competitions, noting that this approach is beginning to bear fruit.

He also expressed his pride in the performances and commitment of the national team’s champions.

For his part, champion Ali Afif, a member of the Moroccan national karate team, expressed his delight at the team’s results at the African Championships, noting that he won the gold medal.

He added that this victory is the result of the hard work put in by the national team and the support provided by the Royal Moroccan Federation of Karate and Associated Disciplines, thanking the Federation for its efforts in supporting the athletes and preparing them for various competitions.

The Moroccan champion indicated that the next step will be the national team’s participation in the World Championships, scheduled to take place in Poland next month, assuring everyone that preparations will continue with the aim of achieving even better results and bringing honor to Morocco at this global event.

The ceremony was marked by tributes to several Moroccan karatekas, as well as recognition of the work accomplished by the technical and administrative staff in preparing and supporting the members of the national teams.

As a reminder, the Moroccan national karate team won 26 medals at the African Championships, held in Algeria from September 10 to 13, with a delegation of 40 athletes in the cadet, junior, and senior categories competing in kata and kumite events. The medal haul included five gold, 14 silver, and seven bronze medals.
