The number of COVID-19 tests conducted every day has exceeded 17,500, announced on Sunday Minister of Health, Khalid Ait Taleb.
“We have started with 2,000 tests per day in three laboratories. Today, we have exceeded 17,500 tests per day, since we have gone from 3 to 24 national laboratories”, Ait Taleb pointed out at a webinar.
This performance “does not include military health laboratories and the private sector, which meet all the conditions of prevention and health safety to carry out PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction),” he added.
“More than 340,000 Moroccans have undergone COVID-19 tests. There are some citizens who were tested several times. This important figure reflects a huge effort”, he said at this virtual meeting which discussed the means to lift lockdown measures and the role of the press in raising awareness.
The meeting was held on the initiative of the Moroccan Society of Medical Sciences and the National Health Federation.
