Morocco and Panama, linked by a fruitful partnership, are determined to boost trade cooperation, especially in maritime transport, said, Thursday in Casablanca, Panamanian minister of Maritime Affairs, Jorge Barakat Pitty.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the first Consulate General of Panama in Morocco, Pitty stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation in a field where the two countries have a lot of experience thanks to the huge potential of Morocco and Panama in terms of trade exchanges passing in transit through ports, notably the Tanger-Med and Casablanca ports.
Given the fact that Morocco and Panama are coastal countries, they are called upon to undertake joint actions to develop trade on the basis of maritime transport, the minister said, highlighting the importance of the Panama Canal to boost trade at local and international levels.
