President of Bosnia and Herzegovina determined to foster ties with Morocco

President of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Covic, who granted an audience on Sunday in Casablanca to head of government Abdelilah Benkirane, expressed his country’s determination to develop ties with the Kingdom of Morocco and reinforce bilateral cooperation given the north country’s assets and potential which give it a special status in international relations.

Covic is currently on a visit to the Kingdom, the first of its kind, during which he took part in the 2nd Crans Montana Forum (FCM), which opened on Friday in Dakhla in the presence of international figures.

In a statement to the press, Covic said that the talks with Benkirane were an occasion to examine means to establish the bases for a fruitful cooperation between the two countries, noting that Morocco’s development, stability and peace politically and economically could serve as a model for others at the local and regional levels.

He also underlined the importance of exchanging visits between officials of the two countries to discuss issues of common interest.

Benkirane said that his meeting with the President of Bosnia and Herzegovina is in conformity with the royal instructions given the great interest the sovereign takes in this European country.

He highlighted Morocco’s ongoing efforts to reinforce its relations with European countries, as the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina whose half population is Muslim.
