British Top Official Lauds Morocco’s Regional Leadership
British Under Secretary of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for the Middle East and North Africa Tobias Ellwood lauded, on Wednesday in Rabat, Morocco’s leadership in the Middle East and North Africa region.
“I commend Morocco’s leadership in the region which helped bring together parties to conflicts as in the Libyan issue,” said Ellwood at a press briefing after a meeting with minister delegate for foreign affairs Mbarka Bouaida.
He added that the meeting was an occasion to discuss several regional challenges, mainly the issue of refugees.
The British official voiced his gratitude to Morocco for its support in managing this matter.
Bouaida underlined that Ellwood’s visit shows how important is the role of Morocco regionally and in the fields of security and development.
The meeting was an occasion to inform the British official about the latest developments of the national cause, in the light of HM King Mohammed VI’s speech in Laayoune on the 40th anniversary of the Green March, she said.
