The French interior minister, Bernard Cazeneuve just snap a rare procedure. He announced to the National Assembly asking the forfeiture of French nationality against five terrorists convicted in France for the Casablanca bombings of May 16, 2003, according to information relayed by AFP. “I asked the Prime Minister for deprivation of nationality to five terrorists,” said Bernard Cazeneuve.
They might as well follow the path of Ahmed El Sahnouni Yaacoubi. This jihadist has just been deported to Morocco saw the forfeiture of French nationality validated by the Constitutional Council in January 2015. A provision of Article 25 of the French Civil Code which provides for the deprivation of nationality for a criminal offense without, however, clearly state terrorism, had been used to fall from his French nationality the former Franco-Moroccan.
The French minister also recalled that administrative bottlenecks jihadist websites, the territory of exit ban, prohibition of return on national territory or expulsion of “those who are preachers of hate” or the law intelligence, constitute the legal means France has to fight effectively against terrorism.
