Morocco King Chaired First Ramadan Lecture in Rabat
Rabat, June 18, 2015 (MAP) – King Mohammed VI presided on Thursday at the Royal Palace in Rabat, the first religious lecture the holy month of Ramadan.
This talk was moderated by Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Toufiq, on the theme: ” Abu Al-Abbas Assabti and solidarity in terms of doctrine and uniqueness’, inspired by the Holy Qur’an: ” We proposed to the heavens, the earth and the mountains responsibility. They refused to undertake it, being afraid thereof: but that man took care of it because it is very unfair ïenvers himself mêmeû and ignorant. ”
The speaker began his talk by providing some elements biography on Abu Al-Abbas, who is Ahmed Ben Jaafar Khazraj, born in Ceuta in 524 before settling in Marrakech where he will give up the ghost in 601, stressing that Abu Al-Abbas was fascinated by this city as his fate was not yet determined.
He added that Abu Al-Abbas had the privilege of living under the reign of four caliphs that are Abdelmoumen Youssef Yacoub Mansour Naser adding that his stay in Marrakesh coincided with the boom years of the Moroccan civilization during this time which saw the succession in this city of great philosophers, writers, doctors and politicians Maghreb and Andalusia, where decided the fate of much of the southern Mediterranean and its northwestern flank .
The speaker explained that the doctrine of Abu Al-Abbas regarding solidarity based on helping students who come to Marrakech in quest of learning science.
Abu Al-Abbas become famous by crossing the souks and squares to invite people to give alms according to the recommendations of the Qur’an and hadith, which he distributed to the poor. This is the doctrine of Abu Al-Abbas for solidarity: taking money from some to distribute it to others who are in need, he explained.
Parallel to this field experience, he continued, Abu Al-Abbas strove to develop its policy on the solidarity emphasizing the Qur’anic verses that recommend charity and beneficence.
However, this doctrine based on charity and solidarity toward the poor was in the spirit of Abu El Abbas, an intrinsic link with the cardinal principle of the oneness of God, which is one of the pillars of belief in the Muslim religion.
The speaker then addressed the five readings of the doctrine of Abu El Abbas religious Sufi, political, social and philosophical.
On the religious level, Abi El Abbas considers beneficence and charity come first acts of belief that a Muslim must undertake.
On the second reading Sufi, he has noted, Abi El Abbas has rubbed shoulders with the great names of Sufism without becoming the follower of any master, has he said, adding that his behavior, his love good and his thought, however, make it one of the great thinkers of Sufism.
Toufiq added Abi Abbas El Sebti lived during the era of the Almohad marked by political suspicions fed against sheikhs, despite the emergence of an elite of thinkers who did not interfere in State’s political affairs by focusing their speeches on religious education.
HM the King was then greeted by MM. Majdi Haj Ibrahim, professor of science of translation of the Qur’an to the Islamic Faculty of Malaysia, Hadi Omar Naim, member of the Supreme Islamic Council of Islamic Affairs of Chad, Rafi Sheikh Taha Al-Rifai, Chief Mufti of Iraq and university professor Sulaimaniyah, Fadel Muhammad Al Mamoun Mbacki, preacher and teacher of Tarika Mouridia Senegal, and Mohamed Zine El Hadi Al Haj Ali, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Daawa and member of the body of Ulemas in Sudan.
The Sovereign was also welcomed by Mohamed Ben Mustapha Falsen in metaphysics researcher in France, Chafaï Ahmad, vice president of the Islamic Council of Niger, Ousni Oussa Ismail, President of the Higher Council of Islamic Affairs of Gabon and Thiernou drami, Chairman Higher Islamic Affairs of Gambia.
At the end of this religious talk, the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs presented to HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, a single copy of the Holy Qur’an, in that its transcription was done by women.
The scientific committee of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the edition of the Holy Qur’an recognized the merit of the work of women copyists in compliance with the Qur’an Mohammadi.
This Qur’an was transcribed by women who have benefited from the literacy program in mosques under the 2014/2015 year. The transcription was carried out by a contingent of 75,000 women among those admitted to the program, on the basis of a word transcribed by each of these copyists, knowing that the Holy Quran contains some 77,000 words.
The copy presented to HM the King is distinguished by a richly decorated cover stylized motifs, giving the extent of the talent of these copyists women, starting with the title ” Quran ‘and illumination crafted in bright red and green .
The inside pages were ornamented with floral and other motifs inspired by the art of Moroccan embroidery, specifically made for this item.
In this apotheosis of female tribute, two women, originating in Ceuta and Dakhla, and contributing to the transcript, presented this copy to the Sovereign.
