Morocco & Tunisia Signed Eight Agreements During High Commission Meeting

Morocco and Tunisia signed, on Friday in Tunis, eight cooperation agreements in various fields during the 18th High session of the Joint Commission.

The first agreement of cooperation and partnership between the Ministry of Housing and urban policy and the Tunisian Department for the equipment, the habitat of the land, was signed by the Minister to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mrs Mbarka Bouaida and Tunisian Minister responsible for the sector, Mr. Mohamed Salah Arfaoui.

It is also a framework agreement on technical cooperation in the field of Transport signed by the minister of transport, equipment and logistics, Mr. Aziz Rebbah and his Tunisian counterpart, Mahmoud Ben Ramadane .

For their part, the Minister of Solidarity, Women, Family and Social Development, Mrs. Bassima Hakkaoui and Tunisian Secretary of State for Affairs of migration and social integration, Mr. Belkacem Sabri, signed an executive program of cooperation in social development agreement for the period 2015-2017.

Another executive program for educational cooperation covering the same period was signed by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Education and Vocational Training, Mr. Khalid Berjaoui and his Tunisian counterpart, Naji Jelloul.

The ministers of youth and sports of Morocco and Tunisia respectively Mr. Mohand Laenser and Mr. Maher Ben Dhia, signed an annual cooperation program of the Moroccan-Tunisian agency and the executive program of the cooperation agreement in the field of youth and sports.

The two countries also signed an executive program in the field of women, children and the elderly, as well as a joint declaration in the field of higher education, signed by the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Executive Training, Mr. Lahcen Daoudi and his Tunisian counterpart, Mr. Shihab Bouden.

Earlier, the head of government, Abdelilah Benkirane, was received by Tunisian President Mr. Beji Caid Essebsi.

The talks focused on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and issues of common interest.

The monitoring and coordination committee also held its 14th session, chaired by Ms. Bouaida and Tunisian Secretary of State for Arab and African Affairs Touhami Abdouli.

Speaking on this occasion, Ms. Bouaida insisted on transforming the political will highlight the relationship between Morocco and Tunisia into tangible economic projects, through the encouragement of initiatives capable of enabling the realization of this objective.
