London – The Moroccan Paralympian El Amine Chentouf won Sunday for the third consecutive year the Paralympic London Marathon, winning the event dedicated to the visually impaired (T12) in 2h 21min 33 sec, new record for the event.
Chentouf broke his own record for the third straight year. The previous mark was 2h 25:07. He won ahead of Spaniard Alberto Suarez Laso (2h 21min 47 sec). The other Spanish Moroccan Abderrahman Ait Khamouch finished third with a time of 2 hours 26 min. 54
Chentouf won first place in the marathon World Cup in 2014 and offered Morocco three gold medals at the world championships in Lyon in 2013 (5,000m and 10,000m).
Led by Farid Lastik and driven by Mohamed Molhine, Paralympic Moroccan team also consists of Youssef Ben Brahim (T13) and Ahmed Ferhat (T45 / 46).
