Morocco reaffirms its support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people

Cairo – Morocco reiterated Monday in Cairo support to the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people as well as efforts to end the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.

Speaking at the meeting of the Arab ministerial committee of the Arab action to end the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Nacer Bourita, reaffirmed the support of the kingdom to the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people as well as efforts to end the Israeli occupation and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the June 1967 borders.

Mr. Bourita highlighted the important role of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of Al-Quds Committee, to find a definitive solution to the Palestinian issue, said the first meeting of the commission aims to mobilize support for the Palestinian issue in order to end the Israeli occupation within a fixed timetable, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the June 1967 borders and the final resolution of this issue on the basis of the Arab peace initiative and the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy.

He said the ministerial committee considered during its work, the Arab action to be taken in the light of efforts to end the Israeli occupation and the ongoing consultations on this matter with the members of the Council UN security, influential regional and international groupings, in addition to the resumption of peace negotiations in the coming months.

The ministerial committee of the Arab action to end the Israeli occupation, the creation of which was decided at the last Arab summit, held on 28 and 29 March in Sharm Sheikh in Egypt, including Morocco, Egypt , Jordan, Palestine, and the secretary general of the Arab League.

Morocco was also represented at the meeting by the Ambassador of Morocco and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the Arab League, Mohamed Saad Alami.
