Moroccan and Jordanian Sovereigns for bilateral cooperation programs

Casablanca – King Mohammed VI and King Abdullah II of Jordan urged the governments of Morocco and Jordan, to develop bilateral cooperation programs, said a joint statement issued on Thursday after the official working visit in Morocco and the Hashemite Sovereign Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah.

These cooperation programs to be adopted at the 5th High Moroccan-Jordanian joint committee set during this year in Morocco, which will be chaired by the Heads of Government of the two countries, according to the joint statement.

At the invitation of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Jordanian sovereign undertook, from March 10 to 12, an official working visit to Morocco. The visit comes within the framework of the implementation of strong historical ties of brotherhood between Morocco and Jordan, and the consecration of the constant process of consultation and coordination meetings between Sovereigns of both countries.

On this occasion, His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His host Illustrious had last Wednesday at the Royal Palace in Casablanca, discussions on key issues of common interest and ways to strengthen bilateral relations and to promote to the rank of a complementary strategic partnership in all its dimensions.

According to the joint communiqué issued at this visit, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan welcomed the reform process led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which allowed Morocco to achieve major political progress and development.

For his part, King Mohammed VI, who praised the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II for progress and prosperity of the Jordanian people and the consolidation of its political institutions, reiterated the solidarity of Morocco and its full support to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the source added.

Furthermore, the two leaders expressed their satisfaction of the progress made within the framework of the cooperation of Morocco and Jordan with countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), said the joint statement.

In this regard, the Moroccan and Jordanian Sovereigns reiterated the positions of their countries in favor of all initiatives aimed at strengthening peace and stability in the Arab Gulf States, and their determination to continue building a strategic partnership copy and complementary with the GCC and to broaden perspectives, to respond to the aspirations of the peoples of the eight countries.
