Morocco decided to suspend 16 flights operating between Morocco and Libya

The Moroccan authorities have decided to suspend temporarily as of February 16, 2015, flights operating between Morocco and Libya, said a joint statement from the Ministries of Interior and Public Works, Transport and Logistics.

This suspension is dictated by the non-compliance of the treatment of flights from Libyan airports to safety standards required by international authorities for civil aviation, said the source, adding that this suspension also provides overview of Moroccan air space by Libyan aircraft.

The movements of Moroccans living in Libya, wishing to return home will be facilitated from the neighboring countries of Libya, the source added.
