More than 300 officials and experts expected at “Marrakech Security Forum”

More than 300 senior civilian officials, military, security, experts and representatives of international organizations are expected at the 6th edition of “Marrakech Security Forum” (Africa Sec-2015) to be held on February 13 and 14 current Marrakech.

The meeting, held under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI on the theme “Africa on transnational and asymmetric threats,” has built over the years as the only space for debate, analysis and exchange of experiences on security in Africa, says the Moroccan Centre for strategic Studies (CMES), organizer of the Forum in partnership with the African Federation of strategic Studies.

The 6th Forum addresses a variety of topical issues relating to security on the continent, including “The security weaknesses in North Africa and the progression of asymmetrical transnational threats”, “The Sahel-Sahara smoldering conflict or risk of a new cycle of violence, “” the separatism homes and rebellion: gray areas in unstable Sahel-Saharan space. ”

The participants at this high-level meeting will also discuss the “challenges of maritime security in the Mediterranean, the Horn of Africa and South Atlantic (piracy, terrorism)”, “Pandemics (Ebola …) threats health security in Africa “,” emerging threats: multiple, scalable and complex issues (risks, chemical and biological terrorism threats). ”
