Morocco Egypt: The crisis has pushed for a better future in bilateral relations

Rabat- The crises experienced crossing the Moroccan-Egyptian relations has given way to an opportunity for building a better future of relations between the two countries, said Thursday in Rabat, the Minister of Affairs Foreign and Cooperation, Salaheddine Mezouar.

This trend is illustrated through the visit of 15 and 16 January in Morocco, the Egyptian Foreign Minister, in which were laid the foundation for a strong and renewed strategic partnership, Mezouar said at a meeting of the Foreign Affairs, Defence, Islamic Affairs and MRE of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Foreign Affairs, borders, occupied areas and defense national Chamber of Advisors for the review of the latest developments of the national cause.

Mezouar reminded, in this regard, the position of Egypt, which has expressed its commitment to the issue of territorial integrity of the Kingdom, noting that all these efforts were crowned with the telephone conversation between His Majesty the King Mohammed VI and Egyptian President Abdelfettah Al-Sissi.

“Hostile parties in Morocco were mobilized to exacerbate the Moroccan-Egyptian crisis,” said Mr. Mezouar, adding that the parties have used the same methods and tried to take advantage of the new situation in Egypt to seek new enemies of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

In the wake of the disruption of relations between the two countries, supporters, Egyptian cultural and artistic circles have emerged to increase hostility against Morocco, he lamented, noting, in this sense, that vigilance was appropriate in the management of this crisis, which has given way to the opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations on solid foundations.
