Addis Ababa: Senegalese President reappointed at the head of NEPAD
Senegalese President Macky Sall, has been renewed for a new two-year term as head of the Steering Committee of Heads of State and Government of the New Partnership for the Development of Africa (NEPAD), said Saturday a statement from the presidency issued in Dakar.
The Committee was satisfied with the ‘great work’ carried out under the direction and momentum of the Senegalese head of state, who chaired last Thursday in Addis Ababa, the work of the 32th heads of Steering Committee of State and Government of the NEPAD, the statement said.
“This Committee meets regularly on the eve of the African Union summit to discuss the priorities of the day, review the infrastructure projects within its jurisdiction, review the status of partnerships between Africa and other cooperation frameworks such as the G8, G20 and BRICS and set strategic directions for the future “, said the source.
The conclusions of the committee’s work is submitted to the plenary of the African Union Summit.
