The Court of Cassation ignores the Franco-Moroccan treaties of Gay Marriage

The Court estimated that the fundamental freedom to marry the same sex is in the bilateral agreement ratified between the two countries – in 1981 – and on “personal status and family and judicial cooperation.”

The marriage of Dominique and Mohammed had been validated twice in October 2013 by the High Court and the Court of Appeal of Chambéry, but the public prosecutor had appealed to the Supreme Court.

La bilateral agreement on which was based then the Crown has in case of French-Moroccan marriage, each member of the couple must comply with the laws of his country. But Moroccan law prohibits marriage between persons of the same sex.
