Morocco Ivory Coast Economic Forum Started Today in Marrakech

The employers’ representatives of Morocco and Ivory Coast have strongly advocated the effective involvement of the private sector in the effort of South-South cooperation and play a leading role in realizing the ambition of a Hub Casablanca-continental Abidjan would be the perfect illustration of this kind of cooperation so desired by the Heads of State of the two friendly countries.

Meeting within the framework of the Forum, held under the theme “Morocco-Ivory Coast: a dynamic co-emergence “, the presidents of confederations of employers of both countries agreed that the joint commitment of both Heads of State is reinforced by the position of the major centers of the two countries in their respective regions and the enormous potential of a win-win cooperation.

The Moroccan-Ivorian Economic Forum held on the occasion of the visit of President of the Republic of Ivory Coast, Alassane Dramane Ouattara in Morocco at the invitation of HM King Mohammed VI.

During this visit, Mr. Ouattara was accompanied by a delegation of representatives of some 150 Ivorian firms.

Organized by the CGEM and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, the high-level meeting that knows the participation of some 800 participants from both countries, including several ministers, will revolve around plenary sessions including on multi-sectoral cooperation, the co-development and economic and financial integration, in addition to B to B meetings between operators and businessmen of both countries.

This forum is an opportunity to realize the debate launched at the first meeting held on the sidelines of the visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in Ivory Coast in February 2014 and which brought together traders and government officials from both countries.

HM King Mohammed VI and President Ouattara, presided Tuesday at the Royal Palace of Marrakech, the signing ceremony of several bilateral cooperation agreements covering various fields. These agreements come consolidate the mutually beneficial cooperation momentum which His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Ivorian president had given a strong impetus during the last visit of the Sovereign to Ivory Coast.
