The Casablanca Stock Exchange began the week in red

The main index of the Stock Exchange of Casablanca, Masi and Madex, began the third week of the month in red, with a fall of 0.30 per cent and 0.32 per cent respectively.

Around 9:38 GMT, Masi, overall index composed of all equity-type securities, fell by 11.87 points above the 10,300 points and the Madex, compact composite index of listed values continuously, yielded 10.36 points settle at 8432.68 points.

For their part, European stock markets opened moderately higher Monday, accentuating their earnings last week, pending the likely announcement of new measures to support the growth of the European Central Bank (ECB).

In Paris, the CAC 40 index is 0.26 pc at 4391.44 points into 8:40 GMT. In Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.81 per cent and in London the FTSE 0.52 pc The Euro Stoxx 50 index for the euro area ahead of 0.43 pc and FTS Eurofirst 300 0.54 pc.

The Casablanca stock market continues to evolve in a rising trend, the overall index, Masi, closing the week of January 12 to 16 on the increase of 3.42 per cent to 10,334.72 points as well as the Madex which hoisted 3.56 pc at 8459.61 points.
