Tetouan: Kick-off of the 15th Morocco Royal Tour Show Jumping Competition

etouan – The first leg of the 15th Morocco Royal Tour (MRT) show jumping competition, held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, kicked off on Thursday at the Hipica arena in Tetouan.

The first day of the competition featured two events: the first, a CSI2* class, for the “White Dove” Prize, and the second, a CSI4* class, for the “Oued Draa” Prize.

For four days, the city of Tetouan will resonate with the sound of horses’ hooves, culminating next Sunday with the World Cup Grand Prix, the “His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan” Prize (4* class), and the “Royal Guard” Prize (2* class).

On this occasion, Sakina Ouaddar, Head of Communications at the Royal Moroccan Equestrian Sports Federation, emphasized that this sporting event, now in its 15th edition, brings together more than 280 horses and 100 riders representing 17 countries: Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Spain, Ukraine, Brazil, Portugal, Belgium, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Greece, Switzerland, France, Colombia, Monaco, and the Netherlands.

In a statement to MAP, Ms. Ouaddar indicated that the public in Tetouan will be able to attend 13 competitions, including seven 4* and six 2* events, as well as two evening competitions on October 2nd and 3rd.

Regarding the first day’s events, Yasser Arbain, who secured third place in the “White Dove” Prize, expressed his delight with this performance in the first stage of the competition, emphasizing that this result is the fruit of hard and consistent effort.

He added that this result provides further motivation to continue his efforts and improve his performance, expressing his ambition to achieve even better results and reach the podium in future competitions.

The Morocco Royal Tour will continue in Rabat from October 7th to 11th, before concluding in El Jadida from October 15th to 18th.

Since its inception, the Morocco Royal Tour show jumping competition has established itself as a major event contributing to the development and promotion of sporting excellence.

Organized by the MRT Foundation, which brings together the Royal Guard, the Royal Moroccan Equestrian Sports Federation, and the Horse Show Association, this event is distinguished by its professionalism and high-quality organization, a result of this collaboration.

Through this first stage, the MRT continues its contribution to the development of national equestrian sports and to Morocco’s prominence on the international sporting stage.
