Rabat – Secretary-General of the Popular Movement Party (MP), Mohamed Ouzzine, said Wednesday in Rabat that the party will remain committed to the causes of the Homeland and its supreme interests, whether it sits within the government majority or in opposition.
Speaking to the press following his meeting with Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, as part of her consultations with political parties on the formation of the new government, Ouzzine said that being part of the majority or the opposition is subject to alternation, while defending the interests of the Homeland is the fundamental constant to which all parties are committed, in furtherance of genuine citizenship.
The meeting provided an opportunity to learn about the vision of the appointed Head of Government regarding a number of current issues of interest to citizens, he said, highlighting, in this regard, the geostrategic challenges facing the Kingdom, as well as the regional challenges that need to be addressed.
Ouzzine stressed, in this regard, the need to find effective solutions and alternatives to issues affecting young people, as well as to accelerate the implementation of integrated territorial development programs, noting that this delicate stage requires joining efforts to build a new Morocco, with renewed prospects and determination.
The MP Secretary-General also congratulated El Mansouri on the Royal Trust placed in her, wishing her every success in her new responsibilities.
The appointment of a woman as Head of Government reflects the High Care with which His Majesty King Mohammed VI surrounds Moroccan women, he said, expressing the hope that this historic appointment will pave the way for a broader presence of Moroccan women in decision-making and positions of responsibility.
The meeting was attended by Abdellatif Ouahbi, Fouzi Lekjaa and Ahmed Akhchichine on behalf of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), and Mohand Laenser and Hicham Rahil on behalf of the Popular Movement.
