Fuel Prices on the Rise Again in Morocco: Diesel Nears 15 Dirhams Mark

Gas stations across Morocco have once again adjusted pump prices upward, with diesel leading the latest increase. The price adjustments come as global crude oil markets continue to experience volatility.

Effective September 1, 2026, diesel recorded a slight uptick of a few cents, bringing the cost to approximately 14.99 dirhams per liter. Meanwhile, unleaded gasoline prices remain steady at roughly 14.94 dirhams per liter, though actual rates may vary slightly depending on the distributor and city.

This recent shift follows a sequence of upward price revisions over the past few months. Diesel, in particular, has seen a steady rise since July, pushing its price increasingly closer to the symbolic 15-dirham threshold.

These changes mirror international oil market conditions, where fluctuations in raw crude and refined product costs directly impact import expenses for Moroccan suppliers, ultimately affecting local retail rates.
