Erfoud: The 15th International Date Fair in Morocco, October 28 to November 1

Erfoud – The 15th edition of the International Date Fair in Morocco (SIDATTES) will be held from October 28 to November 1 in Erfoud, under the theme “Date Palm and Innovation: Opportunities for Integrated Territorial Development.”

Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this edition is organized by the International Date Fair Association of Morocco, under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries and Food Sovereignty, with the support of the National Agency for the Development of Oasis and Argan Tree Areas (ANDZOA).

According to a press release from the organizers, this new edition is part of the national initiative to consolidate the development of the date palm sector, support its modernization, and strengthen its contribution to the economic and social development of oasis regions.

With an expected attendance of over 100,000 visitors, SIDATTES will bring together the various stakeholders in the sector and offer a space for discovery, exchange, and networking through several dedicated areas, including those focused on date-producing regions, institutions and sponsors, international participation, the Rahba des Dattes (a traditional date harvest), local products, agricultural supplies and machinery, and livestock farming.

In line with this year’s theme, topics related to innovation, research, investment, and support for professionals are expected to be central to the event’s program, the same source emphasizes.

The scientific and professional meetings will provide an opportunity to share expertise on research advancements, technologies, and innovative practices, as well as investment opportunities and support mechanisms available for the development of the date palm sector.

Agricultural advisory services and food safety will also be central to the discussions, contributing to improved practices, the promotion of Moroccan dates, and the sustainable preservation of oasis regions.

This edition also features cultural events and competitions dedicated to date products, highlighting the heritage, expertise, and diversity of date palm-related products.

Through this 15th edition, SIDATTES, the press release states, reaffirms its role as a hub for meetings, exchanges, and partnerships between farmers, cooperatives, researchers, businesses, institutions, investors, and international partners.

Its aim is to bring scientific advances and innovative solutions closer to the needs on the ground, promote the sharing of experiences and highlight the development and investment opportunities offered by the date palm sector.
