El Jadida Horse Show 2026 Welcomes Nearly 160,000 Visitors

EL JADIDA — The 17th edition of the El Jadida Horse Show concluded on Sunday on a high note, solidifying its position as a cornerstone of Morocco’s cultural and equestrian calendar.

Held at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Center under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the major event brought together breeders, international riders, industry professionals, and equine enthusiasts from around the world. According to the event’s commissioner, El Habib Marzak, nearly 160,000 visitors attended this year’s edition.

“Nearly 160,000 visitors walked through the gates for the 2026 edition,” Marzak stated. “This record attendance proves once again that the Horse Show is not only a professional gathering, but a popular celebration where a shared passion for the horse is passed down from generation to generation.”

Over the course of a week, the event featured a rich lineup of sports competitions, traditional showcases, and educational activities. Highlights included the prestigious King Mohammed VI Grand Prix of Tbourida, celebrating Morocco’s traditional equestrian art. The program also hosted the Breeders’ Cup, international showjumping competitions, Arabian and Arab-Barb horse presentations, scientific conferences, and youth workshops.

A Strategic Engine for the National Horse Industry

Beyond its cultural and sporting appeal, the El Jadida Horse Show serves as a vital economic engine for Morocco’s equine sector. By gathering breeders, veterinarians, artisans, and institutional representatives, the event promotes knowledge sharing, investment in professional training, and the preservation of the Arab-Barb horse—a staple of Moroccan heritage.

The economic benefits of the show extend well beyond the venue, boosting local tourism, traditional saddlery, and farriery crafts. By bridging ancestral traditions with modern innovation, the show continues to support the national strategy for developing the equine industry and showcasing Moroccan expertise on the global stage.
