Ramadan 1436 Food Support Operation Launched in Rabat
Rabat – The national food support operation “Ramadan 1436” reflects the high sense rooted in the values of the Moroccan society towards people in need.
Ramadan This operation is one of the flagship annual humanitarian actions of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity. It reflects the proximity of the Foundation continues with the poor and bears the image of the generosity of all Moroccan citizens, who express the Foundation through their commitment to their religious, cultural and historical.
The launch by HM King Mohammed VI of food support operation “Ramadan 1436”, on Thursday in Rabat, reflects the high care Sovereign surrounds needy strata of society and its ongoing effort to promote the living conditions of the poorer sections or in difficult conditions, especially during this blessed month.
This national operation, which aims to provide assistance to the most vulnerable social groups, including widows, the elderly and the disabled, will benefit nearly 2.37 million people grouped in 437,900 households, 403,000 of whom live in rural areas .
Organised with the support of the Ministries of Interior and of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, this national operation was, since its launch in 1999 an annual event aimed at providing aid and comfort to the most vulnerable social categories.
Become one of the most important solidarity initiatives nationally, food support operation during the month of Ramadan is also part of the overall vision of the Kingdom in the social field and that comes across other social sites structuring as the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), the medical assistance scheme (RAMED) and social housing projects to strengthen social equity and equal opportunities.
This great humanitarian action demonstrates the solidarity and generosity shown by always Moroccans, inspired by the teachings of Islam which recommends the completion of charities.
One evidence of the commitment of Moroccans these virtues is the participation of thousands of volunteers, including students from universities and higher institutes, supported by social workers to this transaction implementation in different regions of the Kingdom.
