Rabat – The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ) within the national territory Branch pf monitoring (DGST), conducted Monday in Fez, the arrest of an individual, involved in cases of fraud which represent a great danger to the health of citizens, said a statement from the Interior Ministry.
Imbued with extremist ideology, owner of a company specialized in the wholesale of food, the respondent (SA) proceeded to the purchase of large quantities of consumer products (juice, dates, jam, honey and confectionery) outdated and unfit for consumption at low prices, before storing them inappropriately in a warehouse of his company to falsify preemption dates and sell on the market.
The respondent had profit from the increasing demand on various food products during the holy month of Ramadan to sell these rexpired etail, the source added.
It was also found that this individual had supported the travel expenses of a Moroccan citizen and her children to go to Turkey to join the ranks of terrorist organizations in Syria and Iraq, says the same source.
this operation was conducted in coordination with the provincial committee of food control and quality within the province of the region of Fez led to the seizure of several tons of expired food products and two machines packaging and labeling as well as a large number of blank labels for falsification of preemption dates.
The respondent will be brought to justice as soon as the ongoing investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor has been completed.
