Morocco Communication Minister Reacted Over Mawazine Concert and Much Loved Film

Rabat – The Minister of Communication, government spokesman Mustapha El Khalfi said Tuesday in Rabat that his department trusted the institutions and the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA) to make the right decision in keeping with the values, ethics and the image of Morocco, concerning the broadcast by the channel 2M of a concert in the Mawazine Festival.

Responding to a current issue of the Justice and Development Group, at the session of oral questions in the House of Representatives regarding the broadcast by 2M of a concert by the Mawazine festival, the Minister stressed that Article 165 of the Constitution stipulates that the High Authority of Audiovisual Communication is an institution responsible for ensuring respect for fundamental civilizational values ​​and laws of the Kingdom.

He reminded of the fact that the first measure was to send letters to the CEO of the public broadcasting pole, HACA, the Ethics Commission 2M and its CEO, saying the government attachment to the independence of public broadcasting in the context of respect for the law.

Responding in the same context, another question of Haraki group on the prohibition decision of a film, the minister assured that creative freedom is guaranteed, irrevocable, calling instead to tell the difference between creation and the molestation accordance with the law of the film industry, adding that the decision not to authorize distribution of that film was made under the law.
