The proceedings of the 8th edition of the National Conference of Agriculture under the theme “Inventing the future of agriculture, one for all”, were opened Monday in Meknes, in the presence of Senegalese President Macky Sall.
Organized under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this annual event aims to be a high-level meeting of the crossroads of national and international policy makers in the agricultural sector in order to deliver their views on the prospects for agriculture more than ever arrested for major challenges related to the protection of populations, territories and the balance of the planet.
Thus, this edition has chosen to focus on the future of Moroccan agriculture and concrete ways to make it an economic and social development of the Kingdom locomotive.
It will also allow to take stock of progress and the Green Morocco Plan, and in an important phase of its deployment, since only five years now separate us from the deadline in 2020, marking the completion of its implementation implemented.
To discuss these issues and different ways to consolidate, sustain and continue the revitalization of national agriculture while sticking to the steps of the latest global technological advances, two round tables will be organized on the sidelines of this edition with the participation of a many managers, operators, international and professional experts of the sector.
The first panel will answer the question: “What will be the future of agriculture?”, While the second will focus on “the future of agriculture, the key factors for the future.”
The objective of this 8th edition is also to have feedback from large agricultural nations who managed to make agriculture a promising sector for their economy, uniting their young and future generations around this area .
Will also be honored the various opportunities that may represent the agricultural cooperation to invent a modern future agriculture, attractive, competitive and inclusive, when Morocco is positioned as a true gateway to Africa.
This edition knows the participation of the Spanish Minister of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Isabel Garcia Tejerina, the Senegalese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Equipment, Papa Abdoulaye Seck, the Ivorian Minister Agriculture, Mamadou Sangafowa Colibaly and Qatari Minister of the Environment, Amir Ahmed Ben Mohamed El Hamidi.
The Minister of Agriculture and Maritime Fishing, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, and several other government officials were present at the opening session of the 8-th National Conference of Agriculture, held as every year the eve of the International Exhibition of Agriculture in Morocco (SIAM), the 10th edition is scheduled from April 28 to May 3 in Meknes.
