The Minister of Youth and Sports Ouzzine Mohamed was sacked according to a statement from the royal cabinet published Wednesday.
Indeed, the results of the investigation have established the responsibility of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in dysfunctions of Moulay Abdellah complex in Rabat. The responsibility of the department of Ouzzine regarding defects found in the drainage system, malfunctions in the control and a delay in the progress of the work.
In accordance with Article 47 of the Constitution, the King has responded positively to the request of resignation from Mohamed Ouzzine.
According to the statement of the royal cabinet relayed by MAP, the Head of Government conducted a thorough and comprehensive investigation into the failures that have occurred on a game of the clubs World Cup in Prince Sports Complex Moulay Abdellah in Rabat. He submitted a report to the King about it, on the basis of investigations conducted by the Ministers of Interior and Economy and Finance.
“This report has established direct political and administrative responsibility of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as well as that of the company, in faults recorded at the completion of this project, specifically: Defects in the performance of work of water drainage, construction of the stadium lawn that did not meet the specifications, in addition to the defects and deficiencies in the quality of work carried out by the company in charge of the project, malfunctions in the control process performed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which prevented to ensure efficient monitoring of the work.
“The delay in the launch of work to the calendar of scheduled events, since the launch of work has been ordained a few months before the opening of that event and the temporary non-acceptance. Maintaining programming the Prince Moulay Abdellah sports Complex to host a major international sporting event was not appropriate, given that the stadium might not be ready on time, “the statement added.
According to the same source, after being informed of the content of the report, and starting from the spirit of responsibility, the Minister of Youth and Sports has asked the Head of Government to submit to the King’s appraisal that a request for it is removed from office. Pursuant to Article 47 of the Constitution, the King decided to terminate the appointment of Mr Mohamed Ouzzine as Minister of Youth and Sports, the statement concluded.
