Spain reinforce its military cooperation with Morocco

Following the instructions of His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, General of the Army Corps, General Inspector of FAR and Commander South Zone, received on Monday at the ‘General Staff of the FAR Rabat, Admiral Jaime Munoz Delgado y Diaz del Rio, Chief of Staff of the Spanish Navy.
The talks between the two leaders focused on the balance of military cooperation between Morocco and Spain, particularly in the marine field, and ways to develop it and to bring it to the level of partnership relations that bind the two Kingdoms, a statement of the General Staff of the FAR, noting that this cooperation includes the organization of combined naval exercises, mutual support, exchange visits and participation in various trainings and training courses mainly in the fields of hydrography and amphibious operations.
The two military officials particularly discussed ways to promote interoperability between the Royal Navy and Spanish Navy through the exchange of experience and expertise, is it the same source.

Military cooperation between the two Kingdoms is governed by a Cooperation and Defense Agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of emergency management, the statement said, adding that joint military commissions held every two years, alternately in Rabat and Madrid.
Admiral Jaime Munoz Delgado y Diaz del Rio is on a working visit to the Kingdom, from 14 to 16 December 2014 at the head of a military delegation.
